Description: The Priority Land Acquisition Assessment Project, or PLAAP, which focused on the Upper and Mid Cape Towns with public water supplies, redefined the USGS identified areas by applying newly compiled parcel based land use to a number of clustered parcels, referred to as tracts. The tracts were evaluated for their water supply development potential based on natural resources and land use constraints. The tracts were rated as poor, low, medium, or high potential. It is important to note that this analysis does not include any subsurface investigation needed to evaluate the specific water yielding characteristics of a site for use as a water supply. The rating tool is based on a consistent set of regional resource information to indentify constraints that limit the suitibility of each area for water supply development.
